San&Jun was created in 2012, following five years of collaboration between Sandrine Barbeaux, Belgian independent artists manager and art consultant based in China since 2005 and Gao Youjun, Shanghai designer and founder of "Yee Advertising", an advertising and public relation event company that employs thirty people.
San&Jun and Yee regularly collaborate as privileged partners on the production of monumental scale artistic events.
San&Jun devotes its activities to the visual arts and the building of cultural bridges between China and Europe, through the creation of an artistic and inter-cultural dialogue. It is expressed in various forms, from the orchestration of art exhibitions and artistic events to custom-made art travels.
One of our missions is to support Chinese and Western artists in the development of their international career and to bring the art to a wider audience while providing meaningful artistic and educational content.
We dedicate particular attention to the study and selection of the exhibition context so that the creative universe of the artist resonates with the architectural environment.
Experimentation of the arts also often goes for us through a total sensory experience, which leads us to regularly work on a monumental scale.
Sandrine holds a degree in Business and Diplomatic Sciences from HEC Liège. She is a Laureate of the Prize of the Foreign Trade Minister of Belgium.
She started her career in the fashion industry in Paris, namely working for young designers. Soon, her personal interest and background in the arts led her to begin her independent activity of artist management and promotion.
In 2005, she discovered the growing Chinese contemporary art scene and moved to Shanghai.
Her experience with institutions such as Shanghai Art Museum, MoCA, Shanghai Biennale, Pingyao Photography Festival, Shanghai Concert Hall and then the appointment as the coordinator of the Art Corner at the Belgian Pavilion for ShanghaiExpo2010, helped her to improve her expertise of China.
Youjun, alias Tango, graduated from the School of Mathematics at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and pursued his dream of drawing by completing a major in design at the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University of Beijing.
After graduation, he entered the prosperous advertising industry and he founded in 2000 his own advertising agency, “Yee Advertising”.
Since 2010, he is also a very popular cartoonist on social networks, by posting a daily mood drawing on his Chinese Twitter, “Weibo”.
He counts 450.000 fans on Weibo, 20.000 on Tumblr and he is increasingly invited all around China to give lectures, speeches and exhibitions. In 2015, he was nominated for the “Best Cartoonist Award of China” and he had his first European exhibition in Paris.
